Post Title: Director of Internal Audit – One Post
Duty Station: EWURA Head Office – Dar es Salaam
Reports to: Board of Directors
The Director of Internal Audit reports functionally to the Board of Directors and to the Director General on administrative matters. The Directorate assists the Board and Management in instituting effective internal control system, risk management and good governance processes.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
a) To formulate, present for the Board’s approval and implement internal audit policies which are in line with the Authority’s regulatory function.
b) To coordinate risk assessment on EWURA operations, advising the Authority on possible risk factors and designing appropriate control/mitigating measures;
c) To advise the Authority on possible risk factors and design appropriate control/mitigating measures;
d) To prepare and implement an internal audit plan that provides quality assurance;
e) To review and advise on compliance of existing laws on operations of the Authority;
f) To validate whether results of operations are consistent with established and approved budget by performing operational reviews and appraising the economy, efficiency and effectiveness with which resources are employed;
g) To carry out examination of financial accounting and supporting documents to ensure compliance with the existing financial regulations;
h) To evaluate the effectiveness of existing system of internal control and recommend appropriate improvement;
i) To identify and recommend relevant policies that ensures the Authority’s assets are properly accounted and safeguard from loss;
j) To prepare and submit periodic internal audit reports;
k) To conduct and supervise investigation of special assignments;
l) To effectively administer all resources allocated to the Directorate, including offering technical and operational support to staff members in the Division; and
m) To undertake any other duties as assigned by the Director General and/or Board of Directors.
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate for this position should have the following qualifications and experience:
a) University Degree/ Advanced Diploma majoring in Accounting or finance from a recognized higher learning institution;
b) Masters degree majoring in Accounting or Finance;
c) Certified Public Accountant, CPA (T) or ACCA and must be registered with the National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA) in the category of either Associate Certified Public Accountants (ACPAs) or Associate Certified Public Accountant in Public Practice (ACPA-PPs) or Fellow Certified Public Accountants (FCPAs);
d) Knowledge and Competence in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) application, and familiarity with one of the accounting software;
e) A strong background of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and good knowledge of Public Sector Accounting and Reporting Principles; and
f) Not less than nine (9) years work experience in relevant fields out of which four (4) years should be in senior audit position.

The Corporation’s mission is to provide and facilitate the provision of Housing and other buildings for use by the general public while operating on sound commercial principals. National Housing Corporation (NHC) has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Sales and Marketing Director from the Real Estates sector. Who's both proven and has the ability to excel and deliver each time in a fast paced, growing business. NHC is now inviting applications from suitably and qualified individuals with international exposure in sales and marketing who can carry out sales and marketing activities.
The Director of Sales and Marketing report to the Director General and has overall responsibilities for all sales, and marketing and research activities of the NHC and implementation of the corporate business plan, which includes presales, sales and development of new building units/apartments, and plots both commercial, residential and offices.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities include:
• Manage and develop customer relationships, explore product development and revenue generation through the account manager role and the link Directors.
• Carry out research and development to understand the current market demands, trends and economic patterns.
• Direct advertisement and sales campaign for affordable housing, residential and offices commercials and satellite cities etc.
• Give recommendations to management on the strategic distribution of house patterns in the country based on economic fundamentals and social organization.
• Creation of interface between house buyers and banks include work with microfinance organization to ensure the low income communities have access to financing.
• Proactively engages and build relationships with the customers and key stakeholders ensuring their feedback is acted upon to improve services.
• Deliver market intelligence - horizon scanning to understand competitor moves and intentions as well as external markets to identify/develop potential new areas for business growth.
• Actively develops the profile of NHC Internationally and locally through attendance and marketing at appropriate commissioning events, marketing promotion and using a range of methodologies to deliver key messages to potential customers and key stakeholders.
• Implement a clear process for developing and reviewing corporate objectives in relation to maximizing the potential for increasing the revenue and profitability of NHC.
• Manage, motivate and inspire service leads and teams, investing time in their development.
• Actively support the development of individuals and the team through appraisal personal development planning, coaching and mentoring.
• Promote high-impact, highly integrated advertising, Web development, Specialized Marketing inchannel selling systems and results-oriented customer relations programs to our geographic area and abroad.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
• A holder of degree in Finance, Economics, Accounts, Business administration in Sales or Marketing or its Equivalent qualifications in related field with at least 5 years’ experience in a similar role. A Masters degree will be an added advantage.
• Experience in working with senior management to align sales strategies and solutions with international experience in reals estate management
• Must have a proven track record of exceeding sales targets and one who has previous experience in selling houses, apartments/units or presales of property.
• Must have experience of working in a corporate/business focused international environment
• Excellent negotiation skills, proven track record of successfully pitching for sales
• Proven track record of increasing revenue through selling houses at 1b USD plus properties per annual with the ability to grow with the ambition of the corporation.
• Be Credible and have proven experience working within the new house building industry at board level
• Must have experience at working to demanding deadlines, have executive report writing and finance accounting skills.
• Will have the ability to manage and control budget spend.
